HUMAA Student Emergency Fund

The Howard University Medical Alumni Association (HUMAA) recognizes that there are times when Howard University College of Medicine (HUCM) students may need emergency support.

The HUMAA Student Emergency Fund was created to assist HUCM students who are facing urgent hardships due to an unforeseen emergency that, if not addressed promptly, could jeopardize their ability to continue their medical education.

Grant Details

Grants range from $500 to $2,000 and are awarded at the discretion of the HUMAA Executive Director and Executive Board of Directors.

Each request is reviewed individually, with priority given to students with time-sensitive needs and/or the greatest financial need.

Awards are available on a first come, first served basis while funds are available. Students are limited to one emergency grant within a 12-month period and a maximum of two grants during their time at HUCM.
